For those in the market for a simple, quiet, yet powerful multimedia PC, you might want to check out Cerise Quad-Core Workstation. It has a standard-looking Silverstone TJ10 silver-colored case, which has a lot of space for future expansion. Being a workstation, it doesn’t have the usual bloatware and trialware that can introduce software errors, even if you remove it prior to doing real work. The system comes preloaded with four 500GB, 7,200-rpm hard drives, three of which are configured in a RAID 5 array. The reviewer noted that the RAID 5 configuration offered better performance than in a single drive. A Core 2 Quad Q6700 processor, running at a stock 2.67 GHz provided the muscle to achieve great multimedia benchmark scores. It achieved an excellent 9,523 score on CineBench R10 and finished the Windows Media Encoder test 56 seconds. The reviewer stated that the desktop's 3D performance was an adequate, if uninspiring, 5,459 points on 3DMark06 - just right for basic real-time rendering and gaming. Unlike other multimedia systems, the Cerise Quad-Core doesn’t offer dual graphics. This helps in keeping the whole system really quiet. Overall, the Cerise Quad-Core Workstation is a powerful multimedia workstation without the frills.
Pros:
-comes with RAID 5 configuration
-very quiet
-no bloatware

Cons:
-expensive
