Rated 8 of 10

Although this camera doesn’t look as glamorous as its competitors, it is very practical in terms of its features and body design. According to the reviewer, this 7.1 megapixel camera is a safe choice, since Canon is known for its reliable and impressive product line-up. However, the PowerShot S70 does have its faults. The LCD screen is a mere 1.8 inches (although it is viewable outdoors). The movie mode can capture only a maximum of 30-second clips, with a frame rate of 10 frames per second. Even with its faults, the reviewer claims that this camera does have decent features. The large battery life and simple interface allows you to take photos without much hassle. Also, if you shoot RAW images, this camera gives you the option to preview and save JPEG versions of your images. The PowerShot S70 also allows for full manual mode, giving you more control over your images. The bundled software that comes with this camera is also quite useful, with versions for both the PC and Mac. It may not be one of Canon’s most impressive cameras, but the PowerShot S70 still delivers the image quality that the brand is known for.
Pros:
-Sturdy body design
-Has a number of advanced features
-The bundled software is very useful
Cons:
-LCD viewing screen is small
-The controls and menus aren’t exactly user-friendly
-Presence of too much purple fringing
