Canon Powershot A580 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

Not because something is cheap, it should look and perform cheaply. The Canon PowerShot A580 may be a budget camera but you certainly won’t notice it. Its weight is just right; not too light to be awkward and not too heavy to be tiring. It comes with an LCD and an optical viewfinder. While the LCD maybe a bit small and has a low resolution, the reviewer noted that icons and texts were bright and highly readable. It offers 15 shooting modes, though popular modes were visibly missing. Shooting can be quite fast with the A580 and its face recognition technology worked flawlessly. Overall, image quality was very good with sharp focus though it tend to overexpose everything by two-thirds of a stop. It also offers Canon’s Artificial Intelligent Auto-Focus which, when paired with an optical image stabilization feature, can reduce blurs in action scenes. By mixing ergonomics, features and image quality, Canon was able to produce a budget camera that certainly looks and feels much more expensive than its tag price.
Pros:
-LCD and Optical viewfinder
-4X zoom lens
-Ergonomic
Cons:
-Slightly confusing settings
-LCD with low resolution
-No memory built in
