There aren’t many camcorders that can hold their own fashionably, but the Canon HV10 HDV does this with a literal palmful of class. Enter the world’s smallest HD camera, capturing quality HD footage that belies its diminutive size. Though it may be difficult to handle due to its design annoyances, such as menu buttons that aren’t very accessible or the fact that the actual camcorder grip is awkward, picture quality is indisputably first-rate. Armed with different auto exposure presets, one can shoot in any number of unique conditions. The HD10 eventually loses some of its quality when the light fades: grainier pictures and a loss of brilliant color reproduction. Audio also falls short of the quality of the picture and the reviewer mourned a lack of a microphone jack with which to plug in external microphones. Regardless, it fulfills one’s basic video capture needs and an urge to capture quality HD video with no effort and with exceptional portability.
