The HR10 is Canon's follow-up to the much-lauded HV20, both using the AVCHD codec. This camera gives consumers the ability and convenience of recording HD video directly onto DVD. The HR10 is a small and lightweight videocam with a smart design sporting a lot of curves. The battery is hidden behind the pop-out LCD screen. The built-in mic on the front produces ordinary sound quality, good enough for home videos. This is not a professional camera by any means, as suggested by the lack of mic jack, headphone jack, and accessory shoe. In terms of image quality where it most counts, however, the HR10 delivers the goods, even in low light situations.
