Canon 1Ds Mark II Reviews

Total Rating: 10 of 10

Rated 9.8 of 10

The reviewer claims that everything about the Canon 1Ds Mark II is big from the sensor, to the camera body, the files, and the price. Its 16.7 MegaPixel resolution and full-frame CMOS sensor allows professional photographers to print out large images without compromising their quality. However, this can have a downside since the sensor seemed to collect a few specs of dust with each lens change. The specs were visible on some photos due to the camera’s amazing resolution. Also, the reviewer finds the camera controls to be a little complex with some functions requiring you to press more than one button, or to press two buttons simultaneously. But once you get used to the controls, it won’t take long before you see how powerful this camera is. The batteries tend to pack a serious amount of charge, since it takes a long while before they are completely drained. Despite its minor flaws, the reviewer is still amazed by the Canon 1Ds Mark II, saying that it may cause the end of film photography.
Pros:
-16.7 MegaPixel Resolution
-Can support both CF and SD memory cards
-Full-frame 36mm x 24mm CMOS sensor
-The camera body is of high quality
Cons:
-At 55oz, the camera is quite heavy and bulky
-Controls aren’t very user-friendly
-NiMh battery instead of Li-ion, which means that they exhibit memory effect unless they are fully discharged before recharging
-Only Canon dealers can clean off the sensor dust
