Just about everyone is jumping into the netbook bandwagon, and the latest member is BenQ with the Joybook Lite U101. It shares the cookie-cutter configuration of other netbooks in the market, but tries to deviate by introducing some visual flair, such as the lid with the emoticon design and the words Joybook Lite spelled repeatedly. It measures 10.2 x 7.4 x 1.3 inches and weighs 2.6 pounds. It carries the requisite ports you’d normally see in a netbook. The keyboard is 90 percent that of a full-size keyboard, though the reviewer noted that it's noticeably smaller and less comfortable than other 10-inch systems. Instead of the usual 1024 x 600 netbook resolution, the 10.1-inch display of the Joybook Lite features a 16:9 aspect ratio (1024 x 576 native resolution). It has the same 1.6-GHz Atom processor as its competitors. The integrated graphics scored 653 on a benchmark test, which is 168 points below the category average. The three-cell battery provided power for only 2 hours and 37 minutes - an hour short of the category average. The BenQ Joybook Lite U101 tries to stand out from the netbook crowd but the short endurance and poor ergonomics hold it back against the competition.
