Apple iPod Nano 4th Gen Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — November, 2008

Apple decided to take the best of the old iPod models and join them with new ones to come up with the 4th Generation iPod nano. It measures 3.6 by 1.5 by 0.24 inches and comes in a plethora of colors, some of which are really bright. It weighs 1.3 ounces and is much thinner than its predecessors. The 2-inch LED display has a curved glass surface. It comes with a built-in accelerometer that switches the view just by simply turning the player. The accelerometer is also used by the iPod for its new shake-to-shuffle feature. However, the reviewer noted that the scroll wheel doesn't shift to a horizontal orientation when turned sideways. Also, while it features voice recording, you would have to purchase an optional earphones with the mic and controls on the cable. File support is still meager, supporting only a few audio and even fewer video formats. The nano 4G also comes with the Genius menu that automatically creates a playlist based on a chosen song. Just like its predecessors, the image quality is still crisp, bright, and colorful. The battery is rated at 24 hours of audio or 4 hours of video on one charge. For a cool-looking and slick multimedia player at the sub-$200 range, the Apple iPod nano (4th generation) is the way to go.
Pros:
-stylish
-excellent user interface
-has a built-in accelerometer
-has the Genius feature

Cons:
-no built-in mic
-mediocre earbuds
