Apple Video iPod Reviews

Summary of review published by Digital Camera Magazine — April, 2006 (page 30)

The reviewer was astonished at the Video iPod, especially since it could perform its many functions really well and look good while doing it. This device comes in 30 GB and 60 GB versions, and in either black or white. The battery capacity lasts for 14 hours during music playback, and 2 to 3 hours for continuous video playback. The Video iPod is also user-friendly, and with that bright and crisp 2.5 inch display (viewable in most angles), watching videos on a device that small is much more pleasurable. However, the reviewer found it difficult to watch full-length TV shows that were shot darkly - trying to view them requires some amount of squinting. However, viewing short video clips seems to work really well on the video iPod. This makes the video iPod especially suited for video podcasts and music videos - which you can download on the iTunes store. This iPod is much sleeker and simpler than its predecessors. You can charge this unit on a FireWire cable, but syncing it with your computer requires a USB 2.0 connection.
Pros:
-Brighter LCD screen that remains viewable in almost all angles
-Great for playing short videos and music
-More beautiful, sleeker design
Cons:
-All it’s missing is the capability to view full-length theatrical DVDs
