While the Apple iPhone 3G was taking the world by storm, another product of Apple was silently unveiled: the MobileMe. It is the reincarnation of Appleās .Mac online services available at $99 for individuals and $149 for a Family Pack. It features a redesigned Web interface and an increase in storage to 20GB (up from 10GB). One of the banner features of the MobileMe is the Microsoft Exchange-like pushing of e-mail to a mobile device. It offers an auto-complete feature for entering e-mail addresses as well as a quick reply feature, saving you the effort of opening a message to send a reply. Also, Apple states that the MobileMe mail client will be ad-free. The Contacts app allows you to search for a contact and organize contacts into groups using drag-and-drop. The reviewer noted that there is a hitch: .Mac addresses for e-mail, Web sites, and gallery URLs will be removed and will be replaced with .Me instead. While you can get the most of what MobileMe has to offer from other services for free, the clean and elegant interface and the tight integration with the Mac as well as the iPhone make it an indispensable application.
Pros:
-iPhone and iTouch users get Push-syncing of mail, calendars, contacts
-20GB storage space
-better looking Web interface
Cons:
-online site-building, groups, eCards, Slides Publisher are no longer offered
