Apple Macbook Air Reviews
Summary of review published by PC Magazine — April, 2008
If you’re looking for an ultraportable laptop that weighs less than 4 pounds, then Apple’s MacBook Air is for you. It’s one of the slimmest 13 inch laptops in the market today. Though it doesn’t have an internal optical drive and sports only 1 USB port, everything else about it is awesome. The MacBook Air features a full sized keyboard for easy typing. As for its touchpad, it’s the most responsive one among the ultraportable laptops. To connect to the Internet, you have the option to use its built-in 802.11n Airport Extreme wireless card or a Bluetooth 2.0 device. On looks alone, the author is betting that the MacBook Air will sell like hotcakes.
Pros:
-Slimmest laptop in the market
-Great 13 inch screen
-Uses less voltage
-Eco-friendly
-Priced just right
Cons:
-Has only one USB port
-Doesn’t have any ExpressCard or any card-reader
-Battery not upgradable
-Battery life less than 3 hours

The word “thin” in ultraportables was redefined by Apple with the release of MacBook Air. Measuring a remarkable 0.16" thin and up to only 0.76" at its thickest point, this piece of electronic marvel weighs only 3 lbs. With really cool features such as finger gestures and a stunning 13.3-inch display that puts other laptops into shame, the reviewer noted that you could easily forget that you are holding an ultraportable. Of course, something this thin will have some drawbacks. It has no optical drive, no ExpressCard or memory card slots, no Ethernet, just a single USB port and a non-user-replaceable battery. Though the reviewer stated that these drawbacks may pose some problems for road warriors, this work of art is worth considering for corridor warriors. If you have no problems with the drawbacks, then you get an easy-to-use, secure, and fun operating system wrapped in the sexiest, thinnest package money can buy.
Pros:
-Visually beautiful
-Lightweight
-Fast
Cons:
-Lacks the basic components
-Non-user-replaceable battery
