Andersson Technologies SynthEyes Reviews

Summary of review published by DV Magazine — December, 2007

Post-production touch-ups can be pretty complex. Removing a stray person here or a sign post there, while following the camera movements, involves complicated calculations. To simplify things a bit, you can opt to run to SynthEyes 2007 1/2 for help. It’s a program which tracks pixels in a shot and recreates camera motion mathematically. SynthEyes can do it for 3D camera motion (dolly, crane, or handheld), single-point tracking (2D) and tripod pans and tilts (2 1/2D). It supports the most popular 3D and compositing software such as 3ds max, Maya, and a host of others. The program has been used in feature films like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and King Kong.
