Amazon Kindle Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — January, 2008

Amazon’s Kindle is the best e-book reader the reviewer has ever seen. Measuring only 7.5 by 5.3 by 0.7 inches, it is smaller than a hardcover book. It has a cellular modem, making it easy to buy books even without a PC. You can even download magazines and blogs with it but it gets really expensive with the added cost of format conversion. The Kindle supports MP3 format, so you can listen to audio books. It has an onboard memory of 180MB that can store up to 200 books by Amazon’s estimate. It has a SD slot to let you expand its memory up to 4GB. The reviewer recommends the Kindle for avid readers who would want to try out e-books.
Pros:
-Not eye straining
-Built in QWERTY keypad
-Integrated modem
-Simple title retail system
-Wide range of books, blogs, and magazines
Cons:
-Pricey
-Unusual design
-Blogs and magazines cost more
-Restricted eBook format
-Convert file format costly
