Altec Lansing inMotion SoundBlade Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — August, 2008

The Altec Lansing inMotion SoundBlade would have been a perfect Bluetooth speaker. Sized just right for easy transportation in a book bag, the SoundBlade is very portable. It weighs 1.6 pounds and that’s with the 6 pieces of AA batteries inserted. However, it has one very annoying flaw. The reviewer noted that the SoundBlade emits a painfully loud, feedback-like tone with every button press except for the volume control, and there’s no way to turn this feature off. Nonetheless, the SoundBlade scored great in the audio department. The best feature is the sound separation, making high-, mid- and low-range sounds completely defined, crisp and full. However, connecting the SoundBlade through the 3.5mm line-in jack produced weaker results. As a speakerphone, it was able to perform reasonably well. The reviewer noted that calls sounded clear, though mid-range voice sounded too low and full of bass. With AA batteries, the SoundBlade is rated to run for a whole 24 hours. Overall, despite the annoying beeping sound, the sleek design and excellent sound performance of the Altec Lansing inMotion SoundBlade makes it a fine pick for a Bluetooth speaker.

Pros:
-portable design
-can run on battery or AC adapter
-excellent sound separation
Cons:
-annoying loud beeping sound
-speakerphone has too much bass
