Altec Lansing's speaker line gets a make-over and one of the first to have a design revamp is the inMotion Max. The inMotion sports two 2-inch speaker drivers and another pair of 2-inch passive radiators with a black metal grille. A small amber LCD adorns the front and backlit touch-sensitive controls are placed along the top. However, the reviewer noted that the LCD is on the small side and the touch controls aren’t very responsive. Included is a wireless infrared remote with good range, though the buttons requires multiple presses. The inMotion works with the newest batch of iPods including the iPod touch as well as most old models. The speaker's bass isn't very deep though the overall sound is pleasing. The ESS (Expanded Sound Stage) setting added some liveliness to the sound, though cranking up the volume resulted into a little distortion and caused the iPod to buzz against the metal grille. Like some iPhone-compatible speakers, you can’t use the inMotion Max as a speakerphone. When a call came in, the reviewer stated that there was no awful GSM buzz. For a reasonably priced portable iPod/iPhone speaker, the inMotion Max is a good buy
