Acer TravelMate 5720 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — March, 2008

Sure, it may not be the head-turner laptop you’ve always wanted but the Acer TravelMate 5720 makes up for the bland outside with what’s inside. The 5720 contains a plethora of ports, a nicely angled ergonomic keyboard and quick launch buttons. One issue the reviewer stated is the awkward placing of the 3 USB ports at the back of the unit. Watching movies with its 15.4-inch display is fine, though not exhilarating as colors don’t jump at you. Security with the 5720 is great with the inclusion of the finger swipe. Also, you get the ability to lock storage devices and encrypt as well as decrypt files. During benchmark testing, the 5720 was found to perform above average. One of the highlights of the 5720 is its impressive battery life. The reviewer stated that the notebook lasted for 4 hours and 1 minute with Wi-Fi on and 4:21 with the Wi-Fi turned off. WiFi throughput tests also provided strong numbers for the 5720. If you are looking for a reasonably priced laptop that performs great and has a great battery life to boot, then the Acer TravelMate 5720 is worth the second look.
Pros:
-Plethora of ports
-Additional security included
-Above average performance
-Great battery life
Cons:
-USB ports are behind the unit
