Multimedia machines usually come with large screens. If you find 18 inches to be quite large, you might want to check out the smaller Acer Aspire 6930G-6723. The 6930G’s design is similar to its predecessor, the 8930G. They both have Acer’s Gemstone design which is a mix of glossy finishes, illuminated buttons and varied textures. The 6930G weighs 7.2 pounds, making it too heavy for constant travelling. The full-size keyboard offers a good typing experience. It has a bevy of ports, including a USB port that is eSATA enabled, HDMI, DisplayPort and an ExpressCard/54. The 16-inch glossy display is bright and colorful and features a 16:9 ratio. Acer’s CineSurround set up gave crisp and rich audio. The reviewer stated that all-around performance of the 6930G is quite good, due to the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of RAM. The Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS graphics card scored 11,835 in 3DMark03, about 1,600 points below average. Despite having discrete graphics, the 6930G lasted 3 hours and 33 minutes on a charge. If you are in the market for a pocket friendly multimedia system, the Acer Aspire 6930-6723 is a great option.
Pros:
-good graphics performance
-clear sound
-battery endurance

Cons:
-heavy
-slow to boot
-no 1080p resolution
