ASUS U2E-A2B Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — April, 2008

The price isn’t certainly for everyone, but no one can deny the beauty that the ASUS U2E-A2B radiates. This 3.2 pound ultraportable has a leather-clad chassis that extends all the way to the keyboard, creating a seriously comfortable palm rest. Adding to the luxurious design are highly polished hinges that ASUS claims to be reminiscent of cuff links. Despite its small dimension, the reviewer noted that the keyboard is spacious and the touchscreen even has space for 2 fingers. A slew of ports are available, though there is no FireWire port. The 11-inch display uses backlit-LED technology which delivers 20% more brightness yet half the weight of normal displays. Colors were good but the viewing angle wasn't. The internal speakers were weak, even if the volume was turned all the way up. As an added security feature, the ASUS U2E-A2B has a face recognition system, though it was slow to recognize. Benchmark scores were just right for its class while the battery delivered 2 hours and 10 minutes of runtime which the reviewer found to be low. Combining a plethora of ports, a DVD burner all packed in a fashionably stylish chassis makes the U2E a first-class ultraportable notebook.
Pros:
-Leather chassis
-Great keyboard
-Long battery endurance
-HDMI port included
Cons:
-Fan noise too loud
-Slow facial recognition
