The EeePC 900 is the succesor to the highly popular EeePC 4G. It still maintains the same 6.6 x 8.7 x 0.8 inches dimension, and is slightly heavier than its predecessor, tipping the scales at 2.2 pounds. The EeePC 900 retains the 83 percent full-size keyboard. Instead of the usual 7-inch screen, the EeePC 900 now sports an 8.9-inch display and an increased resolution, from 800-by-480 to 1024-by-600. The bigger screen and the better resolution provides richer multimedia, working, and surfing experience. It has 3 USB ports, which the reviewer found to be generous considering its size. It also carries a VGA port for external monitor hookups. Unlike its predecessor, you are no longer limited to just 4GB of internal storage. ASUS filled the available mini-PCI express slot with a 16GB SSD drive for a total of 20GB of storage. The 900-MHz Intel Celeron M processor and 1GB of RAM was enough to handle multiple applications at once under Xandros. The system was able to boot in just 21 seconds, as opposed to twice the time on a typical Windows-based system. It has a bigger four-cell battery that can yield up to 3 to 4 hours of computing time. The EeePC 900 may cost $149 more than the EeePC 4G, but the bigger screen, larger storage and the 1GB of RAM still make it a bargain.
Pros:
-bigger storage
-larger screen size
-good speakers
Cons:
-keyboard too small
-mediocre mouse buttons

The revolutionary EEE 701 just got a whole lot better with the release of the EEE PC 900. Gone are the small screen and small storage space problems from its predecessor as the 900 offers an 8.9-inch display and a 20GB solid state drive without greatly modifying its design. The 900 and the 701 looks almost identical, with the former only longer by just 0.2 inches and heavier by approximately 3.2 ounces. It still has the same cramped keyboard but the trackpad sports a larger area and the new multi-touch FingerGlide capability. The speakers, relocated at the bottom of the 900, still produced decent sound. The reviewer noted that the now bigger screen is easier in the eyes. The previous 0.3 camera is now upgraded to a full 1.3-MP camera. Performance-wise, the 900 still has the same processor as the 701 but with 1GB of RAM this time. The reviewer noted that multitasking isn’t a problem with the 900 and had no trouble running multiple applications. Wi-Fi range is good, though endurance is considerably lower than the 701, owing to the bigger screen. The improvements from the 701 make the 900 a solid choice for a secondary PC.
Pros:
-Bigger 8.9-inch screen
-Larger trackpad
-Better web camera
-Lightweight
-Simple interface
Cons:
-Cramped keyboard
-Short battery life
