The revolutionary EEE 701 just got a whole lot better with the release of the EEE PC 900. Gone are the small screen and small storage space problems from its predecessor as the 900 offers an 8.9-inch display and a 20GB solid state drive without greatly modifying its design. The 900 and the 701 looks almost identical, with the former only longer by just 0.2 inches and heavier by approximately 3.2 ounces. It still has the same cramped keyboard but the trackpad sports a larger area and the new multi-touch FingerGlide capability. The speakers, relocated at the bottom of the 900, still produced decent sound. The reviewer noted that the now bigger screen is easier in the eyes. The previous 0.3 camera is now upgraded to a full 1.3-MP camera. Performance-wise, the 900 still has the same processor as the 701 but with 1GB of RAM this time. The reviewer noted that multitasking isn’t a problem with the 900 and had no trouble running multiple applications. Wi-Fi range is good, though endurance is considerably lower than the 701, owing to the bigger screen. The improvements from the 701 make the 900 a solid choice for a secondary PC.
