ASUS EEE PC 1000H Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — June, 2008

EEE mini-notebooks just get better and better - and bigger as well. The latest release, the ASUS Eee PC 1000H, looks like it can encapsulate its predecessors. Sporting a 10-inch screen and weighing in at a still manageable 3.6 pounds, it’s the largest mini-notebook to date. The display looked sharp on different viewing angles, though the reviewer noted that colors were somewhat muted. The inclusion of Dolby Sound Room stereo speakers gave the 1000H quite a punch in the audio department, even if the speakers are located at the bottom of the machine. The keyboard is a big improvement from its earlier counterparts, though the placement of some keys may produce problems for touch typists. The 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM provided solid performance and its battery life, one of the 1000H biggest selling points, lasted for an impressive 4 hours and 28 minutes with Wi-Fi on. If you are looking for a mini-notebook that can keep up with you, with bigger screen real estate and a spacious keyboard, the ASUS Eeee PC 1000H might just be what you are looking for.
Pros:
-10-inch screen
-Larger keyboard than predecessors
-Dolby Sound Room speakers
-Long battery life
Cons:
-Bigger than its predecessors
-Expensive for its class
