A little pricey at $50 and somewhat difficult to navigate, but the ACDSee system provides an image browser and editor, ways to create discs and backups, and multiple methods for cataloging and archiving images. It also offers excellent search features, but all of its features take time to implement.
Pros:
-photo rating scale
-several organizational options
-great search capability
Cons:
-not particularly user friendly
-time consuming

With a complex interface, ACDSee is difficult for the casual user to utilize the wealth of power options such as creating photo discs and backups. After spending a considerable amount of time rating and organizing your photos, then customizing the information displays and menu options, this is a capable suite for the dedicated user.
